While it's been some time since I last posted a Loving Lately feature, I have yet to stop collecting inspiration via magazines, Pinterest, people and places. Without further ado, here is what I am loving lately!
I hope you all survived the heat wave this past weekend! In an effort to escape the unbearable temperatures, I spent my days hopping around from one air conditioned building to the next - my apartment, Bloomys, Pottery Barn, Urban Outfitters, Gina La Fornarina. Not only is the heat causing bad hair days, cranky New Yorkers (some lovely lady screamed at me on the street today for accidentally bumping into her), and shiny skin - it's costing me money! (although, I do LOVE my new pair of Ralph Lauren stilettos).
As yet another summer weekend comes to an end and a busy work week begins, I leave you with a few things I am loving lately...
Eye Mask {Yes, you may laugh, but I have the BEST nights sleep when I have my eye mask on, especially on summer mornings when the light shines in my window at 6 a.m. Trust me - you have to try it! You can get one here!}
eos lip balm {95% organic, cute packaging and easy to apply! What's not to love? Purchasehere!}
Hoboken Movie Night Each Wednesday, for the duration of the summer, there is a FREE (yes, FREE!) outdoor movie screening on Pier A Park in Hoboken. With the Manhattan skyline in the background, a blanket and a bottle of wine, it's a perfect date night (with a special someone or with some friends!) Check out the schedulehere.}
Stevia-Sweetened Ice Tea {My friend's mom grows the stevia plant in her backyard. This natural sweetener is the most tasty and healthy alternative to sugar, Sweet N' Lo and any other artificial sweetener. If you don't have a garden like me, you can buy it pre-packaged at your local grocery store. It certainly doesn't look as organic in your iced tea, but it still tastes great!}
Clever Luggage Tags
{I love these personalized luggage tags with copy reading 'Not Worth Taking,' 'Not Your Bag,' 'Not Worth Stealing,' 'Hands Off,' 'Dirty Clothes Inside,' and 'My Clothes Won't Fit You.' Adorable! You can create your own here!}
Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you are all adjusting back to reality after a long and beautiful holiday weekend. While I am slowly getting my life back in order after being gone for what seems like a week (Greenport pics coming soon!), I have compiled some of my weekly summer-inspired favorites.
A few things I am loving lately...
DIY Friendship Bracelet's!
{If you have forgotten how to make them like I did, remember how here!}
Stewart's Key Lime {tastes exactly like the pie!)}
Opinion Tags {love these!}
Colorful Candlelit Dinners
{on the deck in Hoboken}
Long Island Wine Vineyards
{Old Field Vineyards is my favorite! Check it out here!}
2 Year Anniversary {Celebrating 2 years with the most amazing guy ever and my best friend! (this pic was taken 2 years ago exactly, at a wedding in Maine)}
Since the day I started my blog, I treat it as though it is my own mini-mag, and I am the editor-in-chief, of course:) It's become such a passion of mine, and I put an enormous amount of thought and energy into each post. After working for a few magazines, I have learned how important consistency is when it comes to branding yourself and keeping your fans coming back for more. With that said, I am planning on creating weekly features that you will become familiar with and can expect to see on a regular basis. My first will be entitled, Loving Lately. This post will consist of a compilation of photos and descriptions of my favorite picks of the week - from beauty and fashion finds to restaurants, events, music, decor and more - I will touch on a little bit of everything I am loving at the moment.
A few things I am loving lately...
Red Bulls Games!
{I recently went with 8 of my friends and we sat in section 102 (aka the CRAZY fan section). We entered the stadium with cleans faces and left with war paint on, waving enormous flags, chanting 'we believe that we will win' and following a procession of drums out (no exaggeration!) By far the most eventful sporting event I have ever attended (and the least expensive in the New York area). Purchase tickets here!}
Pink Berry's Sweet Caramel
{For anyone who knows my obsession with Coldstone's cake batter, I think this just may be my new favorite (and less calorie, thank God!) treat. Trust my word, I know good ice cream when I taste it!}
Relator by Scarlett Johansson and Pete Yorn
{Who knew Scarlett sings...and is really good! Love this song (thanks Kait!)}
My Clarisonic MIA
{I had read about this beauty must-have in every magazine I picked up and heard friends that say they swear by it, so naturally, I had to see for myself. All I have to say is WOW! It is my savior through these hot, humid months and keeps my skin smooth and vibrant! You can get it herein your favorite color.}
Michael Kors for Marriage Equality Window Display
{I was walking in the West Village just after the gay marriage bill was passed (yay!) and came across wedding cakes topped with same sex couples in Micheal Kors windows. Love this and love that same sex marriage is legalized in New York! Today, I am proud to be a New Yorker!}
